Standing between Singapore's supertrees is just as extraordinary as breathtaking. The Gardens by the Bay are a tourist attraction, but they are an escape for residents as well as they offer the opportunity to hide away from the big city life without leaving it.
Staring at the Marina Bay it is best to enter the Gardens from the left hand side of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. There is an esplanade, which leads you to the Gardens. Coming that way you have a nice view on Singapore's next landmark - the Singapore Flyer. Spotting the Singapore Flyer from the Gardens by the Bay is all you need to do - it is not worth taking a ride or visiting the area around. Another advantage may be that you can ride the bike coming from this direction.
If you are heading to the main entrance, you stand just in front of the supertrees, whereas our favorite way kind of smoothly leads you to the heart of the Gardens.
All trails in the Gardens lead you to the centre, where you can find the artificial trees, which are vertical gardens and a popular motive for photographs. In general it is always a good time to visit the Gardens. We especially appreciate going there by late afternoon or after sunset. Especially when it is dark, the display of the city lights, artificial light of the trees and the upcoming jungle like sounds provide a nice atmosphere. The Gardens are less crowded after sunset, which is another reason for being there late.
