There are many reservoirs and canals in Singapore. The Mac Ritchie Reservoir in the heart of Singapore is a very common place for extended walks, run exercises and nature experiences.

Taking the 10km trail starting to the HSBC Treetop Walk is our favorite. Strolling along the water, through the forest and crossing the hanging bridge is the best way to admire the beauty of the nature. On your walk you will easily forget being in Singapore as it really feels like being in the jungle. Therefore, a morning or evening walk at Mac Ritchie is a perfect destination for a quick getaway.

Be aware of the weather before heading the the reservoir. When we went there the first time, a thunderstorm stopped our walk before having it started. We do not recommend going there when the weather is bad. The rains are pretty heavy and make your adventure a wet one. Even if it is raining for a few minutes only.
